Try going for a white background - with enough light on it so the focus is on the subject and none of the background. Should give you more of a portraity feel

but I don't like the white background shots they are so commonly done now and will look dated in a few years, but saying that a lot of my clients want them ha ha.

But agree with Azz if it was set up, I think a white background or a more subtle colour would be better, I know you hate white backgrounds, but they do work I like Black backgrounds

I think it is because he has a bright yellow T Shirt on so it clashes slightly with the background

It is because you said you set up your lights, so I thought he was faking it, plus when my Luke goes to sleep he never looks that perfect. folded arms etc or angelic xxx

I set up the lights waiting for him to wake up and thought what the heck snap away now before he starts telling me what I should be doing [he is very bossy mmmmm wonder where he gets that from lol]
