Flower Snapshot Technique

I've been experimenting with Photoshop Elements to highlight specific areas of any photograph. Since I've been photographing flowers the past two weeks I chose them to use in my learning process. What do you think?

Since posting this technique with flowers I tried a beach scene & think it lends itself better to that type of shot.

Here's a photo, artificially aged, that highlights a bright colorful area while bringing across a restaurant's image. This can be marketed.

Re: Flower Snapshot Technique

That's a lovely technique, similar to the one I just posted. I never thought of adding a drop shadow to the snapshot area. I'll have to add one in my next attempt. Thanks for posting yours for me. I love to take ideas & run with them until I exhaust all possibilities. My variation almost uses the background as a watermark, using the snapshot in color to draw attention to itself. I'll bet that overall technique would make some super travel brochures or even food menus, highlighting a specific dish on a table full of food. Hmmmmm!!

Re: Flower Snapshot Technique

Excellent work. It's great to see 'creative' use of PS - as you say Bob - this treatment can really tell a story to get a point across.

Looking forward to seeing your next attempt
