Thinking about getting a nifty fifty

if i said i was thinking of buying the nifty fifty what would be your thoughts?

pros and cons

Got a mate who has one for his D3, and pretty much never has it off his camera and he takes piccies for a living!!

Said it was one of the best value lens' you can get and does produce very good images.

thats settled then i was 99% sure it was my next purchase and now its 100%.


i cannot find anybody to say a bad thing about it.

Just noticed your camera Jols, it won't autofocus on your camera body though.

no i have read that.

but i would quite like to mess about with the manual focus [i do a bit with the kit lens]
and at that price i think it is a winner.

The camera will still tell you when it is focused though, the focus dot in the viewfinder still works just have to do the work yourself
