Beautiful nature

Some of Bob's wonderful flower posts prompted me to post a few shots I took last year just outside of my office ( I hope this is not a repost).

I'm very fortunate where I work, we have some truly wonderful kept gardens.

Re: Beautiful nature

I'll be the first to admit how difficult it is to capture good flower photos in bright sunlight. You've done and admirable job of shooting these.

In the first photo my eye was immediately drawn to the daffodil because of its sharp focus, sharpness and position in the composition. I'm assuming the larger flowers (tulips ? ) are the main subject. They don't hold my attention because of that daffodil.

In the second photo my eye wanders all over the place, with everything being in sharp focus, being evenly lit and exposed. It's a good snapshot under difficult lighting. I would zoom way in, even on a partial single flower, to pick up more detail and compose a singularly interesting subject. There certainly are some great colors and detail in all those blossoms.

The third shot was just a difficult situation to get a good composure. The orange flowers are really beautiful but because of their location and the cluster formation it's hard to single out one flower or compose their horizontal layout.

The series is well exposed, showing brilliant color with flowers that are very pleasing to the eye. In order to raise these photos to the next level I'd be zooming in on a much smaller area to eliminate distracting backgrounds. I know, depending on the circumstance in the shoot, that that is easier said than done. Just some thoughts for your next shoot.

Hi Bob

Thanks for taking the time to go through them in detail, I have to admit at the time I had sneaked out of the office in between jobs to take these, so they were quite hurried and mainly taken to show to a friend to try and identify what they were. But your note will help me next time when the gardeners plant something unusual
