Can anyone help with this photo.

This photo may not look like anything, but it was took by a friend and it means a lot to them, especially since she owns the dogs grandma who died about a week ago. She asked me if I could isolate the dog and give it a new background or something, but I am so crap at it there is no way on this earth I could do it!! Maybe have the dog resting on a new surface or something, I dunno!!

So I said Id ask on here if anyone would like to try. Hope you dont think Im being cheeky, just ignore this if you do, I do understand.

Re: Can anyone help with this photo.

Its not hard to transpose to another background but it looks wrong.

Best I can do with it just de-cluttered whats in front and cropped. Just notice small smudge in bottom right hand corner but I am sure you can sort this

Re: Can anyone help with this photo.

Just redone it Dawn. When I cut and paste to a new background the big problem is keeping the hair that sticks out . Have emailed the picture to you as well incase I remove it from photobucket.

Re: Can anyone help with this photo.

I'm not ignoring the picture, because I think you are being cheeky I am hopeless at extracting from backgrounds. I will have a play with it though, and if by some miracle I can do something half decent, I will post it. XXXX

Re: Can anyone help with this photo.

There's a few problems with extracting items like this unfortunately. The first one is anything with hair is an absolute nightmare to cut around well - and the second is the shadow on the face - if you remove the bag you'd have to replace with something else that gives the same shadow.

I actually like the pic as it is - perhaps lighten the dog a tiny bit but I think it gives the impression of a bundle of mischief amongst all that stuff or if you really wanted to isolate the dog, go for a crop and add a vignette?
