Re: Long tailed tit, Blue tit, Golfinch, & Chaffinch

Thanks Phil. Yes, I'm very careful to make sure I press the shutter button at the right moment e.g clear background, when I can see catchlight in the birds eye, and when the light has lit them well and of course composition. I also move around as the light changes and because I use my 400mm hand held I have the freedom to move around as I choose.

Hi DJ.

Yup!
Another amazing set of Tits.

Seriously though, I agree totally with the guys, these images just pop, and you've done amazingly well to capture them in such a fashion.

I'm really loving the long tail. I've never seen one of them either, and he's so darn cute.

I really like shot number 2

Re: Long tailed tit, Blue tit, Golfinch, & Chaffinch

I love long tails so much - we had a flock of about 40-50 of them flying over the house about 2 days ago - didn't get any shots, they didn't stop. They sometimes do - we get them a lot in this area.

Really think I need to pay a visit to wherever you're going there Grant! I don't find anywhere here half so good - certainly nowhere with hides etc. I suppose it's good in a way, teaches me to do it the hard way, just lying in wait, making my own hides if needed lol! Still - would be nice to actually get some good photos for once!

These are, as always crackers, and hard to pick a fvourite, but I do love the first LTT pic - you capture its dopey stuffed toy look so well!
