Wasp



Taken today using AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G plus Raynox 250

Camera Nikon D5100
Exposure 0.02 sec (1/50)
Aperture f/5.6
Focal Length 35 mm
Focal Length 35.6 mm
ISO Speed 100

This guy was very much alive and on our staircase window had to get up pretty close with 35mm lol.

Thanks mate was decorating the staircase and my wife noticed it on the window so dropped everything grabbed camera out of cupboard put raynox on and shot a few ...

You have to click the picture large then click on it again to make it huge to see how good this is. Nice one Owen.

Looks very different enlarged, im not too fond of wasps, i was stung 5 times last year grrrrrr.

Thanks mate appreciated just wondering if I really need to buy a dedicated macro lens, I know I would get better results and better magnification but for what I do think I might settle for this different set up lol...

Thanks Brian and I right amongst them the other day when I was out had to get quite close in the bushes etc only using 35mm but hey I will take the risk lol...

I went for a 60mm macro because I couldn't get results like you with the Raynox. I tend to shake and found it harder to focus. Selling that helped fund the macro lens.
Unless you have the money to spend I'd stick with the Raynox. You are getting amazing results with it.
