Re: First slow water attempt

Shame about the blown sky - perhaps moving closer to take the sky out could help there? Nice composition - although I'd have gone closer. Also, like the second one

Re: First slow water attempt

I think you probably posted this because you wanted to show your efforts on smoothing water dave. That was successful! Any items you want change to improve the picture generally, I'm sure will follow

Re: First slow water attempt

That's a nice amount of movement - not too slow and 'milky' and not too fast and 'frozen'.

Certainly 'job done' on the water

As Yorki said an ND Grad filter would allow you to slow the water whilst retaining detail in the sky however the shot does look a little over exposed on the whole - a normal ND filter (none grad) would allow you to get the same amount of movement in the water by using the same shutter speed without the over exposing.

Looks like a bright day too so not easy for this type of thing - much easier during the evening or on overcast days

Re: First slow water attempt

Thanks guys. I want to go there at night some time. Looks they have lights there so it would be lit up at night. Agghhh, to challenges in one lol.

What's a a normal ND filter (none grad)?
