Its very worth it - it really is a beautiful city - the first day I was there I stumbled (literally - I was very jet lagged!) into the Botanic gardens - and they are spectacular and really peaceful - I then carried on walking down to the water and just came round the corner straight onto the main harbour (Circular Quay) but that was my first view of the Opera house and bridge - they really are amazing to see 'for real'.

Thanks - I like the light....they were taken from Taronga Zoo - it gives you the most incredible views - most people get there by ferry (its the easiest way!)
