A friend wants some christening photos I did on a CD to get printed himself. But i still need to edit them but he could get lots of diffrent sized images. So after ive cropped and edited them. what is the best size to have the photos at?

Re: Resizing photos

I guess it depends on hat size they want them, for frames etc...

How savvy is he with getting them printed? It may be suitable to let him do the resizing etc himself...

A little tip though, I personally use Picasa to crop, as it gives a very good range of presets!

Re: Resizing photos

If you resize them all to say 3000x2000 (6MP) or 4000x3000 that will (12Mp) they should both be plenty big enough up to A4 size (and for those 30x20 posters that a lot of companies do now)

It is the aspect ratio that is the issue, does he want 1.5 (6x4, 9x6, 12x8) or does he want 1.4 (7x5) or 1.25 (10x8) etc.

If you crop them all to say 1.5, and he prints them using a different aspect ratio then he will get white bars at the upper and lower edges of his shots (landscape).

Thats all I worry about when getting prints.
I try and make sure they are all to the right ratio, but don't think about the size.

Re: Resizing photos

The ratio thing is what I meant and what I use Picasa for!
