Help Canon 5d Mk II and CS3?
Why can I not open my raw files with CS3 from my Canon 5d Mark II?????

Because Photoshop CS3 does not understand the 5DMk11 file format. There is no RAW update for CS3 either, and neither will there be one.
You have two choices, use the Canon software to convert from RAW to Tiff, then edit in CS3, or upgrade to CS4 which does open the Canon RAW files by default.

There is another option and that is to use Adobe's DNG converter to convert the the files to DNG and then you can open it as a raw file. Tiff files lock the light balance etc whereas DNG does not.

Thanks Steve but i'd rather have raw ones so i'm going to download the trial CS4 methinks - ugh what a drag lol!

That was the initial intention of DNG but it has never really caught on with the camera manufacturers.

I just wish that it was as easy as darkrooms - paper, enlarger, chemicals, simples 
never mind will grab cs4 this weekend - the download trial 30 day thing, although apparently i can get a discount for being a student - happy days!
