Re: Down by the tay.

Number 2 makes my eyes hurt and would probably benefit from being much straighter - perhaps a greater depth of field to show the bridge in sharp focus too? Orr.. focus on the bridge instead maybe, could be interesting?

I really like number one a lot - I think it's a fantastic image - with a great deal of depth.

Re: Down by the tay.

Hi Eileen. 1st image I don't think works very well in portrait orientaion but I think I can see what you were trying. Maybe if you had moved further along the bridge you were imaging from then try to get both sides of the river in your shot, maybe that would have worked better, or even shot in landscape orientaion with very little sky as it is was obviously a very dull and grey day.

2nd image is interesting and I like this shot out of the 3. Did you get a shot with the bridge in focus as well? I would like to see that to see which works better.

3rd image, mmmm it's ok but really not very interesting Eileen. I would say to you to go back to this bridge at the crack of cockadoodle doo (on a clearer day) and shoot it at first light and try and get below the bridge( not in the water as close as you can (take tripod) and shoot at an angle so as to try and get all the bridge in. Also, if not early in the morning, try it as the Sun starts to fade as well.

Re: Down by the tay.

Nice shots Eileen - you have been busy!

I actually quite like the first, think you could crop out half of the sky perhaps

Nice to hear everyone's thoughts too.

Re: Down by the tay.

Thanks everyone!
No.1 was taken from a viewing tower, so was limited on distance getting along it! I see that it would have been better taken further out now!
Phil it was taken along the water front at the City quay, do you know the new houses that have recently been built? well just on the path in front of them.
No.2 I never thought to take the bridge in focus, I was aiming at capturing the distance I was from the bridge, if you know what I mean, But I can always go back. lol
No.3 Yeah I guess it is quite a bland image of the bridge, Why do some pictures look good at first!

As you have the edit ok icon ticked I had a little fiddle
