What should I put on my Christmas wishlist?

I'm starting to think ahead to what I am buying everyone else for Chritsmas so I thought I shoud think of my wish list too!
So what should be asking for?
I'm enjoying portrait and macro most of all.
With my 300D I have a basic macro lens (on long term loan), the kit lens and a wide angle lens. I also have a big tripod, a polarising filter on the way (thanks to my dad) and a couple of flashes (not that I know how to use them).

So are there any cheapish 'must haves' I should be asking for?
I was wondering about the 'nifty fifty', a remote thingy (for taking pictures without touching), a reflector ....... anything else?

Re: What should I put on my Christmas wishlist?

Those sound like a good start!

My Xmas wishlist is already insanely long (and I do have a birthday before then...) so I expect I can dream on - especially totalling up the cost at the end

A nifty fifty ? - 50mm f1:8 ???

Great cost effective way of getting into very shallow depth of field.

Re: What should I put on my Christmas wishlist?

If you don't already have a good graphics program I'd recommend Photoshop Elements 7.0. For about $75 you get a full featured editor so powerful I deleted all my regular photoshop software off all three of my computers. It's great and there are lots of ways to learn how to use it including Kelby Training online. If you do already own Photoshop Kelby training for Photoshop is super as well.

Re: What should I put on my Christmas wishlist?

I was wondering about software.
I have Photoshop 6 (I think).
Is Photoshop Elements better? I assumed as its cheaper that its not as comprehensive.

In my humble opinion I believe Elements is better because of its ease of use. I'm sure there are some here that don't feel that way but Photoshop 6 is about 4-5 generations older and the new features added to Elements 7.0 are very useful.

Re: What should I put on my Christmas wishlist?

I see you have a tripod, have you got a remote shutter release cable. If not then this is a must buy!

What about more memory cards 8Mb or even 16Mb if your relatives are rich

Other suggestions would include:

Monitor Calibration hardware

Camera bags

Filters (Lee)

Memory Card Reader

I could go on

Re: What should I put on my Christmas wishlist?

Maybe a little less 'fun' but more practical -- how about a gift certificate to your favorite camera shop or a general visa-type gift card? That way, the giver(s) don't need to try and squeeze their budget into what you'd like and you could use that gift combined with you own $$ to get what you really want!

Boring and lacking imagination, I realize!
