Doh, I've gone & done it now!!!!

I have been trying to get some decent results with my macro lens of insects, butterflies etc. but have been a bit disappointed with my results.

Below is one of my better ones and I'm not that pleased with to be honest.

I have come to the conclusion that I need some flash lighting to enable me to use a smaller aperture and hence better depth of field whilst still managing a shutter speed of 1/200.

So what have I done? In a moment of madness I have ordered a Canon MT-24EX Twin Lite Flash Macro.

Now I've got explain to her indoors what I have done.

Second thoughts, seeing as it is being delivered to work on Tuesday morning I may sneak it into the house lunchtime and then make out it's something "I've had for ages but haven't used it much lately". Devious or what

...tut, tut, devious women.... ..and to think how many times I may have been a victim of that one....

The other one is leave it in the boot of the car until you can smuggle it inside! Happened to me last week, just taking out new small laptop and 'er indoors pulls up on the drive! 'Er, just an old box for the tip'... Had it a week or more and haven't had chance to set it up yet in case she sees it! Looks different to the old one when open!

Steve
Getting photos of butterflies etc isn't that easy, I have even been to a butterfly farm (in a Zoo ) and still struggled to get anything decent.

Re: Doh, I've gone & done it now!!!!

Cheers Bazza

I've just spent 90 minutes chasing bugs around a local country park and walled garden after being told the bugs are slower early in the early morning.

You wait until I see him

They're just as quick in the morning as lunchtime and I suspect the afternoon

Revenge will be sweet
