Re: Summer bees (make me feel fine)

Love the colours! There's something rewarding about photographing bees! For me, it's that brush with danger after all - it's a bit like Britain/Ireland's answer to photographing tigers at close range!

Re: Summer bees (make me feel fine)

Laura your a nut, British tigers indeed. The clover in our field is smothered in bees, so much that we can't mow as we would kill too many but we and the hounds walk through them everyday and none of us has ever been stung.

Re: Summer bees (make me feel fine)

*Fear* I'm not as scared of bees as I am of wasps mind! This is what makes my macro stuff even better - the fact that I risk life and limb (or more accurately what's left of my sanity - and that's not much!) in order to get those shots!

Re: Summer bees (make me feel fine)

Is it me or are there loads of bees around this year, it wasn't so long ago that they said there was hardly any of them. They are certainly making up for it at the moment in my garden.

They make me run!

I'm not scared or spiders or creepy crawlies (not fussed on them but not scared either) but bees and wasps make me run! (I don't like needles either!)

Loads of lovely bees on our lavendar.
Tried photographing them yesterday. Took loads of snaps. Only afterwards did I realise that I had no memory card in!!!
