Pom pom flower

Have no idea what this is, but really like the structure of the plant.

Re: Pom pom flower

It's called a "thingy" Suzi. Americans use that term whenever they're not sure what something is. Love the composition, depth of field & sharp detail of your thingy.

Re: Pom pom flower

Bit tight in the frame for me too - but I like the composition a lot, and it's a very striking subject!

Technically it's a Wossname. Thingys have longer stamens, and the pollen in more grey in nature. Often mistaken for Wotsits, but Wotsits can be readily identified by their cheesy odour and their ability to stain your hands orange...

Lovely shot too...we both seem to like tight cropping. Maybe we should take up hair styling for the US Army

Re: Pom pom flower

Like the subject and you have done a proper job, with the others on the tight crop but you will have your reasons.

Have a strange feeling I have commented on this before, may be you 52 or perhaps my reply has disappeared, think then I suggested it may be an onion family but now have decided it is not.
