A spotted woodpecker and Redpoll

Just back after a week in Paris and then in Ayr. Not much to show of the 500 photos taken but these are 2 very quick uploads. Hope to get time to see all your shots but back at work!!
Pretty happy with the woodpecker but the redpoll was taken in the only place it posed so the detail is poor because of the feeder.

Re: A spotted woodpecker and Redpoll

Good attempts, particularly the second. Both a little soft so check your shutter speed or in this instance lens is a little soft so may be worth stopping it down a little to get the sharpness. I had that lens and it doesn't perform at it's best wide open, you will need f8 or so but it is very capable if you keep it steady.
