My lift home

This is my lift home - an RAF VC10 (the fastest commercial airliner now concord is no more) Did you know that on RAF flights all of the seats are the opposite way around so you sit flying backwards?

Re: My lift home

Interesting shot - very different to what I'm used to looking at! I'm not sure though about the change in colour from top to bottom... Other than that, a great image!

Re: My lift home

Because I'm a sad nerdy git yes, I did know that...however, I've never seen inside one? Over to you JR!

Pic looks good. That window configuration sort of makes the plane look old. In fact because I am so nerdy I know it to be a 1950's design and flying since the 60's. Can't be too many of 'em left? Wouldn't feel comfortable flying on an old plane but i guess some would argue that they are better maintained by the RAF.

Re: My lift home

Nice one J - although I agree with Z about the saturation from top to bottom, dunno if it's the fuel, but the bottom half seems over saturated with the guys face quite orange. Apart from that it's a great shot!

Re: My lift home

Love this image, can almost feel the heat on the tarmac

( have a big soft spot for VC10's, reminds me of when I first started dating OH, the heady mix of aviation fuel, oil .........)

I like this very much, it does have a certain "top gun" feel.
