Do you maximise your viewing of images?

Hmmm, someone made a comment to me the other day whist I saw them web browsing. It made me think (appreciate that's unusual in itself). Ok, when you view an image in a thread do you click on the link above it to open it up to a larger size?

No? You aren't seeing the best of the image!

Yes? OK, you get a new pop up window opening to view the image and on some websites this window opens to the size of the image. On YoP you can then click the middle 'maximise' icon in the top right of the box and it will open to the size the authi has uploaded, in my case usually 1024xwhatever.

If you don't do this the picture won't look right.

OK, appreciate some or all of you know this, apolgies to them, but I was watching someone a few days ago and realised they had totally missed the point of opening images and seeing them in full glory. The person thought they were all to the size in the thread!

Images won't open to the size of the image from camera but at least you see a better image the author wants you to see.

Re: Do you maximise your viewing of images?

You can even go to the edit options bit in your usercp and change the image resize option so that it actually resizes on the same page instead of opening into a new window (you just click again to make it smaller again).

This works in all modern browsers and that's how I have mine set.

Re: Do you maximise your viewing of images?

Sometimes I do and sometimes I don't.

Some peoples images seem to open in full size and then once the page has loaded they revert back to the 'thread' size.

A lot depends on where I am and what PC I'm on as net speed can be an issue.

Re: Do you maximise your viewing of images?

If there is the option to view at full size I always do! Never knew the other bit BC, about maximizing it though, will give that a go the next time! Thanks.

Re: Do you maximise your viewing of images?

I usually click on the bar to open full size in a new window as I like to see the bigger version, I like to be able to see the details which are much better viewed at fuller size I think, I had`nt noticed the resize option in user cp so I`ve changed that now to view at full size in same window [ cheers Azz ]

Re: Do you maximise your viewing of images?

Speed is a bit of a problem for me too..

My home connection particularly hates imageshack for some reason, and will often commit suicide before uploading them fully It's fine on Flickr and photobucket stuff though.

I always open full size, I think it's very important.

I think it's more an imageshack problem, as the same thing happens here!
