Luminex Video Camera

Recently got one of these. Loaded the CD etc. but it doesn't seem to load my videos, it's as though they are not there. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Even put my card on my card reader and won't accept it that way either.

Pretty familiar with video cameras but think this is one of the disk ones and I am sorry I have no idea about them as we have to use tape. If you have just bought it I would take it back and ask for them to show it to you, we have had reports of people having problems with them but don't know if it is an operator error and one of the camera.

Can you drag n drop? What are the videos saved as? .avi ? .mpg4?

They won't load onto my computer at all, this is the problem, sorry for mixing it up. Computer says that there's nothing there.

Do you know what the files on the disk are saved in, is it mpeg? It could be that the computer can't read mpeg files and instead is set to receive AVI in which case you may have to convert this, there are downloadable programmes available to do this.

Sorry I am not being much help it is totally outside our experience as we have to produce broadcast quality tapes and have never used disks. I think most of the problem is that they are not really designed to be loaded onto the computer for editing but rather to be used straight from the camera and into a DVD player.

What sort of editing programme are you using? I think as the video is already compressed you will need to change it to AVI and then once you have worked on it you will need to compress it again in order to get it back onto a disk.
