Success in photography competition, and found a great local photography group!
Yay! I'm feeling so chuffed!!
My kingfisher shot came 3rd in its category (projected colour digital image), and one of my kite ones got 2nd (colour print). Several others were highly commended too...even landscapes!!

I'm always really nervous entering everything, just because I'm not very confident about my ability just yet, but this has really given me a boost
To top it off, I've found a great little local photography group. Unlike the club I'm already in (which is lovely and friendly, but very competition based) they have regular field trips, and most evenings meetings are very informal with a huge emphasis on training. There are a couple of fab landscape photographers in the club, plus a local artist, so am hoping that I can get a lot out of it, as landscapes definitely aren't my strong point, but definitely an area I'd love to improve.
There are only about 15 members, which is nice in a way, as everyone knows each other, and it's all non-competitive. Here's a link for anyone interested:

All in all...Nicola is a happy bunny at the moment!
