No entry!

This was a gorgeous day, and the sky bright blue, and the reason I took it is because of the fallen tree hanging over the path, like it wanted to block you. I took this with Mono in mind, as in colour it is just boring but in Mono, it is more foreboding, and you get a sense of how big these trees are

Thanks for looking xxx

Thanks, it is really pretty Nicola but the magic of Mono has made it all dramatic xxx

Re: No entry!

They certainly are tall you can see the leaning in effect one gets when taking tall building (it has a name that escapes me)

The mono does work, whether or not it is better I can't say because I have not seen the original - having said that I am in no doubt that the scene was more or less mono anyway even if not B & W and that would lead one to think in mono when taking it.

Well done, am opportunity seen and very well grabbed.

Re: No entry!

Thanks Jackie, the original is very boring bright blue sky, them grey tree trunks and sandy coloured earth, nothing very exciting I am glad you like it, as I know you prefer your landscapes with colour, but the colour didn't do much in this case XXX

Re: No entry!

Lovely mono shot MS The fallen tree adds interest to the shot - it does look spooky - great capture!

Re: No entry!

a nice image. I'd like to see you use some subtle dodging and burning to lift the contrast and features in the forest floor and track to add a little more punch.
