My first 'mountain'

What do you think ?

Personally I like my braces.

I've a whole heap of jumbo sized negatives. I've got the camera which my dad used for this - it's a flap down bellows type - the print is better than the scan (which you can see) but blown sky aside I think the quality is good.

Re: My first 'mountain'

Bob, Don't you yanks understand Ingleesh? Don't worry, we too large a percentage of the great unwashed who live here don't understand it either so try to talk like Gangsta's from the 'hood or in 'text speak' (hi m8, wat u doin)

To the rest of us, braces can be on the teeth but are also the over shoulder straps that hold up the trousers (pants). Hopefully you don't call 'em suspenders over there otherwise we'll have to say here is a photo of Phil in suspenders!

Good photo Phil. Not sure if your Dad was a photographer but isn't it great to get that sharp you against blurred background. Many photos today don't have that as all these auto modes on compacts stop down and of course the tiny sensors mean more DoF. I was intrigued years ago by my Dads Agfa Isolette 2 1/4 square 120 roll film camera which is probably similar to the one yours was taken on...if you look on the negative you can check the EXIF information! The quality of those size negs was good but of course the lenses were not always up to it.

Used roll film myself later, was prompted to buy a Yashica 124G in the early '80's and a Kowa SLR. Scanned a few negs a few years ago but it just takes for ever.

JR, I'm sure that was a tie with an elastic band the neck! I enjoyed wearing shorts. Sadly I had to stop last year when people objected to me going to business meetings in them.
