Hands

I shot this photo for Art. Its a bit soft but that adds to the retro look of being in B+W I feel - what do you guys think? I wanted to show the reflection but I dont feel the focal point and composition are strong enough really.

Re: Hands

I like the shot but think it could be improved with a gentle vignette so the arms that carry the eye out of frame are a little less bright than the hands. Make sure you use a feathering of at least 200 and don't make it too obvious.

Let me know if you don't understand what I mean and with your permission I will show you by lifting your image and working on it.

in general I think it a very good effort original, at least to me and I like the lines and the lighting.

Re: Hands

I'm not sure that it's far off being right. If anything the reflection under the left hand may be causing slight imbalance for me. I do like it though.

Re: Hands

Good work, I do find the line that runs down the left has side breaking up the reflection a little distracting.

Think the vignette is a good idea, maybe some slight work on the contrast and the shadows to give the mono a real punch, if you pardon the pun!
