Re: Birds - Owls, Waterbirds and Sparrow

I'm afraid these uploads look softer than they do on my PC normally, I can only assume this is to do with photobucket? :/

Re: Birds - Owls, Waterbirds and Sparrow

I just love the expression you have captured in the White faced Scops Owl, it is great, beautiful looking owl too.

My other fave is the Greylag Goose, great movement and composition

You do have a wonderful variety of birds in Ireland xxxx

Re: Birds - Owls, Waterbirds and Sparrow

These have to be some of your best work yet Z!!!! well done!

Love the first two and last ones esp

Re photobucket - you should always resize your images before uploading to any host, otherwise they may compress or resize your pics so they take less space on their servers.

Re: Birds - Owls, Waterbirds and Sparrow

thanks both - can't lay claim to the barn owl or scops owl being here... in fact... none of these birds were ! Owls were in Ebbw Vale Owl Sanctuary, Sparrow, Greylag and Barrow's were all WWT Llanelli, and the Swan was Gnoll Park Neath

I do resize before i upload :/ I take ages over it *weep*! I think P-bucket resizes half of them again of its own accord. The landscape ones are not resized by p-bucket - though still a bit lossy. The portrait ones seem to have all been resized by p-bucket though :/

Re: Birds - Owls, Waterbirds and Sparrow

I did put themon flikr - and found that I have to pay for over 200 photos and at the moment, having just come back from a holiday (in order to take these photos! ) I can't afford it! Have to pay subs on Rat club and website too at the moment - so as soon as I have some spare cash I may just do that!

Re: Birds - Owls, Waterbirds and Sparrow

I must say these are excellent. The exposure & composition along with careful control of Depth of Field create a nearly perfect set of photos.
