Engagement Session

These are the 4 picked for possible invitation picture, with no 4 being the forerunner, just wanted general opinions about the pics and if that would be the best choice. Taken with a FujiFilm bridge camera.

Re: Engagement Session

I would suggest #4 out of these ones BG. The lighting s lovley as is the pose

The reasons why i wouldnt choose the others is the in 1 you have chopped her feet off, and that shadow is very harsh. In 2, i love the position of the pair, and can see what you are going for with the wall, but i think its dominating the overall image . 3, is fab, but the framing has left too much empty space above their heads and the focus seems out?

Overall, you do i good job I hope they are pleased with them!

Re: Engagement Session

What's #2 like with a closer crop? Like #4 but the shadow from the tree on the man's face and their body is a bit distracting.

Re: Engagement Session

I too like the second one. I like the fact you can see all of them, its a nice pose and its "warm" looking.

Re: Engagement Session

I quite like all of them except one. They seem a lot like me and my fiancée as they are of similar size. I cant help feel that number 1 makes the guy look really small, or the other way round, maybe because of all the leg from the jeans.

Re: Engagement Session

I have had a look at these several times. I think they are ok as record shots but I don't feel the have enough 'ooomph!' to be something special for the day. I'm sure they would benefit from some cropping or some work in PP to give the images a bit more bite or something more special to them. Maybe even a little vignetting or something to give them more focus on them as a couple and tone down some of the background which seems to have equal status in the picture. The faces and poses of the couple though are ok, so really just trying to say you can get more out of the images than they are as posted.

Re: Engagement Session

I agree with BC - and of them all, the only one I think would be really... erm... classy enough, is number 2. With a slightly tighter crop, to the edge of the wall on both sides.
