Giottos mini ball head

stumbled accross this:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-GIOTTOS-MINI-BALL-HEAD-TRIPOD-MONOPOD-MH1004_W0QQitemZ120330798214QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_ CamerasPhoto_CameraAccessories_TripodsSupports?has h=item120330798214&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms= 72%3A1690|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318

and thought it might be quite handy to use with my gorilla pod, anyone had any experience with these, or can recommend a cost effective ball head?

Re: Giottos mini ball head

Would it be able to handle the weight adequately?

Re: Giottos mini ball head

AT the Focus on Imaging show I looked at the Gorilla pods and I didn't know it but there are 3 different ones depending on weight being used on them.

Re: Giottos mini ball head

see 3kg seems a lot to me. I have the SLR gorilla pod, but without a ball head its slightly pointless, as I spend all my time getting the legs level without a ball head.

Re: Giottos mini ball head

the ball head might topple the Gorilla over - there are different gorillas for DSLRs; the ones Asda had on sale just after xmas are only good for compact digis. Check the weighting limit on your gorilla Dan as adding inches up will possibly affect the over all balance.

Re: Giottos mini ball head

pretty sure it should be okay. Its quite a big gorilla pod, and it currently holds my slr, battery grip and lens fine.
