I like the location, stairs always work well, the leaves on the steps give a nice feel, I think I would like the steps a little brighter.

The portrait is good, well lit and your subject looks comfortable.

I think the image is a little too dark (on my monitor anyway) and the subjects hair disappears in to the blackness at the top of the frame, as do parts of his jeans.

I think it's a really nice image, just needs your subjects hair to be brighter so it stands off the background.

One thing to remember with this type of shot, it may be that someone wants to use it for advertising, or tickets or album art, so always leave space for some 'words'. Maybe next time, place your subject to the right or left of the frame, leaving room down one side. If they want a square crop, they can recrop later.

Good one

Alan.

Re: Charlie Hole

I like it too.

Things I might edit are:

The piece of wood on the left hand side - remove it
Lighten his hair a tiny bit

Great shot!
