Isn't it funny how we can like totally different things?

Specifically, in terms of photography.

How our tastes vary so much. I think it's great mind Just goes to show that beauty is most definitely in the eye of the beholder!

Have you noticed it more in photography than anywhere else? I think I have..

I play guitar and bass guitar. Whilst music is obviously very much a matter of taste - you'd be amazed at how different people prefer different things about the instrument.

Shape, weight, balance, string gauge, action height, neck material, neck width, fret size, fret board material are all personal preferences to do with the 'feel' of the instrument and how it plays and that's before you even get to what they actually sound like.

Absolutely! Photography definitley is a "personal" thing. It shows how things please the individual eye, and what one will think its superb, the other just won't "get." Thats what I love about it so much, and at the end of the day, whatever anyone else thinks, if it pleases you, then its right!

Re: Isn't it funny how we can like totally different things?

Although I agree that people have different feelings about the one image I don't think this applies to just photography but to anything that could be called loosely artistic, we have different tastes formed one imagines by life experience and ones perception.

This applies to almost anything from dance to a building.

I wouldn't say just in photography, I think in reality this counts for everything in life as we all of course thankfully see and even hear things differently.
