Re: Ansel Adams.

The great thing about Ansell Adams was that not only was he great photographer but he was an excellent printer too, didnt he help develop the zone system ? Makes you want to get out and emulate the man doesnt it ?

Re: Ansel Adams.

Yeah he developed the zone system.

A brit who does some similar stuff: http://www.davebutcher.net/

Met the fella, not the most personality endowed, but his shots are very impressive, he gave a talk at my photographic society and he showed a lot of manipulated images. All done in the real dark room and not the PS one!!!

A REAL dark room you say ? surely they are only a myth , actually, I did a photography course at college some years ago and part of that was to shoot and develop and print a roll of Ilford FP4, and the first time you see an image appearing is really magical, shame my photography wasnt

Re: Ansel Adams.

Ansel Adams was a fantastic photographer, I could look at his images all day.
Dawn I love his pictures of Yosemite too, so many people have tried to recreate his pics, at the same locations, and just don't have the same results. He was awesome.
