mood light

While stuck in a hotel in Switzerland recently, I started snapping stuff around the room (as I normally do when I am bored) and when I got home this is probably my best effort from the evening, no doubt after I had enjoyed a few local beers

The room was pretty grotty acutally, but it was only a very small town. The one thing I hate about the shot is the rather 1900s lampshade but I do love the glow.

Enjoy,
Alan.

Re: mood light

I actually like the lampshade, as I think it's what gives it character super colour and great exposure!

Re: mood light

There is many an hotel in the UK that would benifit from that lampshade at least it would not look like every other hotel you had ever been in.

Do like the image, like the angle, unexpected and make one feel you are laying on the bed, love the light and the colour; the walls actually look like wood chip, at least that is in period with the shade

Re: mood light

Thanks for you comments all Much appreciated.

The place in Switzerland was called Sierre, the hotel was really wierd, you had to go in to a small indoor shopping area to find the entrance. The rooms were bleak, they looked right out of the 1960s, luckily I was only there one night.

Having said that, I went out to a local restaurant, and had a great meal, so that was nice

The train ride from Zurich to Sierre was two and a half hours, and the scenery was superb, definately wish I could have got of the train a few times

Re: mood light

Thanks all

Claire, if I go back, I'll get you the shade

Perhaps we could have a 'Change the shade' comp

Feel free to have a go lol.

Re: mood light

The shade doesn't look out of place against that ageless anaglypta wallpaper!!

It's a warm picture!!
