For me it does, but I love this sort of stuff. Contra jour and all that

I may be tempted to remove the figures form it though, but I like pics with large spaces.

Re: Does this work?

Sorry, for me it's boring. There's no foreground or background interest. Nothing draws the eye. If you had a starburst filter it might improve the shot but you need something more than a sun and empty beach.

Re: Does this work?

Not quite for me Azz.

I think the sun is so dominant that it almost hurts the eyes and stops me from looking around the image.

I tried sliding the sun just out of sight and found that the colours in the image looked more saturated and improved the image.

Re: Does this work?

Basically I liked it.

I agree the sun is a bit overpowering and a tad harsh on the eye, but overall I found it a pleasing shot.
I felt the human figures gave it a reference for scale and enhanced the impression of space and emptiness which is what I felt the shot portrayed well, along with a sense of tranquility from the calm sea.

A less intense sun and a tad more colour would have been better but I like the content.

Re: Does this work?

I love sunset shots, and I really like this one, great colours doesn't bother me that there is no foreground interest.

Re: Does this work?

There is nothing to dislike about the image but I feel it would benefit from more detail particularly in the sky and the sea. This is not meant in any way to be offencive but it would be a good starting point for a editing competition, we would see how an image that does not quite fulfil it's promise could be improved by processing.
