Blackrock Cottage

The much photographed Black Rock cottage which is owned by the Ladies Scottish Climbing Club. Last year to celebrate their centenary 37 women, aged been 35 and 92 climed Buchaille Etive Mor dressed in Edwardian skirts and knickerbockers. Wish I'd had my camera !

The snowy summit of Ben Dorain (hill of the streams or hill of the otter) rising out through the clouds catching the light at sunrise.

Fading light on Buachaille Etive Mor.

Re: Blackrock Cottage

Another great set Phil, esp 1 n 3 (although shame about the blown hi's on the left in 3, but in a way it adds to the pic too).

Is that the same cottage as we saw in the bench of a pic you posted a few days ago?

Re: Blackrock Cottage

No it's a different cottage Azz. The other one is about a mile away at the very foot of the peak you see in the backround.

Re: Blackrock Cottage

Ah right I thought it looked different (looks bigger than the other one) but thought I'd ask just in case

I was just saying to DJ how lucky you guys are up there, the air quality is so much better than here!

Re: Blackrock Cottage

Another great set Phil, I would of loved to have seen those ladies climbing, in Edwardian dress

Love how you always give little bits of info, with your Landscapes

Re: Blackrock Cottage

Absolutely love the first photo Phil. It's an interesting composition that works for me. Lots of interesting things in there. I might have tried to get a tad more detail out of the brightest side of the cottage. it's so bright that it's a bit distracting. Well done!
