The Blackmount

Thought I'd add another from last week.

I'd just missed the sunrise hitting the snowy slopes of the Blackmount but it was still early enough to have a nice glow.

Re: The Blackmount

Lovely colours in that Phil - the only thing that spoils it a tad for me is the cloud on the left, just imagine that pic with a clear blue sky. (I know you can't control the weather tho! although you could try editing it out?)

Re: The Blackmount

Great stuff Phil, I like the cloud, Azz is just a perfectionist If you edit the cloud out, IMO you will lose some of the impact to the shot.

I know I say it all the time, but all of you in Scotland are soo lucky to have this nearly on your doorstep!

Re: The Blackmount

Very nice landscape, I think it could be made a little more effective if you had your camera closer to the ground, to give a greater feeling of moving away from you.

Really nice shot, was a shame about the black cloud and the shadow it cast.

Re: The Blackmount

Thanks guys.

I quite liked the black cloud - it's a bit different from the other pics I already have of the Black Mount. I'll be back again soon though I'm sure - and every trip brings something different.

I guess I could have got a bit lower although the cameras only about knee height in this one. That said - if I'd got much lower the middle ground would have been hidden by the foreground. I was huddled with my back against a large rock to keep out of the icy blast.

What isn't that obvious is that the bit of ground I'm on (foreground) is about 50 feet above the rest of the moor - I'd been forced up onto higher ground as it was the only place I wasn't sinking up to my neck in ffffreezing cold wet peat bogs.

It kind of looks funny too at mini size.
