I much prefer this composition, makes more of the tree. Don't think I have ever seen an Almond tree.
The sky is much better in this one too, still dramatic, but a lot more easier on the eye

I love it when you can find isolated trees, and this shot is a good example of why, I like the compostion, its very good.
However, the tree is very dark, and the ground is too bright in comparison, this gives the image a kind of top heavy feel.
