Lone tree

I was out taking pictures in a deserted village today. I happened upon this tree set against a blue sky - I liked the drama so decided to snap it. All C&C comments welcomed.

Re: Lone tree

Lovely shot, I bet if that wall and the tree could talk they'd tell us so much.

Re: Lone tree

Very striking.

You've been quite bold with the colour (well, bolder than me) and I like the wide angle effect especially in the foreground.

Re: Lone tree

Nice capture JR, although the contrast is a bit strong for me.

Re: Lone tree

It's a really nice setting and I like the way you have imaged it but I find the sky at odds with the foreground, both fighting for attention - like two seperate exposures. Maybe it would work better reducing the blue and cyan channel and brightness as well? Have you tried converting it to mono as well?

Re: Lone tree

I love the composition, but i feel the sky is a tad too blue against the burnt out clouds either side of the tree, i just find it a little distracting from the main subject.
