River Coupall

Took this one from the little footbridge over the River Coupall. The hill in the background is Buachaille Etive Bheag (little Herdsman of Etive). The better know and larger Buachaille Etive Mor (Big Herdsman of Etive) is out of frame behind the Scottish Mountaineering Club hut on the left.

The pic came out all funny (dunno why) so it's had a bit of a makeover to try and brighten it up a bit.

Great scene, colours etc. but not sure if it is a bit overprocessed around those mountain ridges?

That's why I mentioned it BC. The whole image is more or less false

For whatever reason the picture was too dark to make anything out and the colours were so muddy you could hardly tell them apart.

If I hadn't overwritten the original I'd have posted it too so you could see.

Anyway, I got fed up trying to sort out the halo around the mountain edges (feather tool set wrong) and just posted it.

It's certainly a shot I'll be back to take again though.

Thats a great image Phil, even better than the first one you posted. Only one thing spoils it a little and that is the mountaineering hut, could you ask them to move it next time you take an image there? just kiddin

Re: River Coupall

Amazing Phil, definitely worth braving the elements for!

Have you ever considered doing a photographic book on Scottish Mountains? You know so much about them, their names, you can tell you love them, and you have got some amazing shots of them.

It's something I'd love to do although the market is flooded with them. I always thought that was a gap in the market for a 'Scottish Mountains' type book which was a bit more 'about' the mountains themselves rather than the bog standard hillwalker's guide showing a picture and a route description. So may of the current publications are handy to refer to when you're about to go walking but aren't really the sort of thing you might actually sit and read. As for the photography - that's a different box of frogs all together as there are many amazing 'coffee table' books with the quality of pictures I could only dream of.
