Re: Buying on Ebay?

I have, and all good experiences. I bought my Canon SLR and the lens from Ebay, he was a dedicated second hand seller of Canon equipment. Bought some very good filters ,a lot cheaper than Jessops, and a replacement battery, light tent, reflectors, a stand for the reflectors........

So, all my experiences have been good, I just look for sellers with really good feedback in the type of stuff I want. xx

Re: Buying on Ebay?

Me too. As has been said, ask Q's, check feedback, if it looks too good to be true it probably is.

Re: Buying on Ebay?

- Check seller rating.
- Pay with paypal as they offer protection - just read up on it first as it can be limited.

If it is something expensive tho, I would prob only buy new, or buy from someone you know :-/

Re: Buying on Ebay?

Have bought loads on Ebay, everything worked apart from a couple of old agfa Isolettes 3,s which were described as probably working, but in fact werent, bit annoying but I think the sellers were genuine so no probs, as said before check feedback and if you,re arent completely happy with something you might want to bid on move on, there,ll be another along in a minute.

Re: Buying on Ebay?

I have. Only ever had problems with one supplier and that was for a tent, I did eventually get my money back with no real problems.

Not had problem with the suppliers on Ebay but I have with Pay Pal although the way that works seems to have changed now, my OH has dealt with them a couple of times with no problems. He has sold loads of equipment on there as well.

Re: Buying on Ebay?

I have bought a few camera accessories from eBay, even bought a lens once (had to return it) but mostly I would say my experiences were 98% positive.

If I am buying something expesive enough (over say £400) then I'm not in to taking chances that much, and will spend the extra 10% to buy it from a reputable dealer (either online or in a shop) as I want to be able to march back and make waves if I have an issue.

Re: Buying on Ebay?

Everything I use was bought 2nd hand either from dealers or of course ebay
I spent many years spending fortunes on brand new gear and forever paying things off
I have just bought from ebay a Nikon 17-55 2.8 £300 below list and it is as new.
There are many people on ebay that just have to have the latest body when it comes out and often sell the "old" one off really quite cheaply, so go on and grab a bargain!
Love ebay but please anyone using it be careful there are a lot of scammers out there
