Re: Pine Tree - Glen Affric

Nice one, great to see the mountains in the background, would be a great shot to replicate in the summer, the foliage would hide that bridge then too

Re: Pine Tree - Glen Affric

Phil I like the way the Pine Tree is framing the shot and then you are drawn in and then up towards the mountains. It looks a bit of a sheer drop wear you were standing though
You have managed to get a bit of everything in, sky, mountain, water, interesting composition, and fab colours! Oh yeah, I like it a lot!

What Mountains are they?

Can't say I'm that familiar with these hills as I've never climbed them but I think the main one you see is 'Sgurr na Lapaich' (3773ft) with the bigger peaks of Carn Eige & Mam Sodhail hidden out of sight behind.

Well you asked

Re: Pine Tree - Glen Affric

its not the most inspiring shot, per se - but you have made it into one by effective use of framing the mountains with the tree. Nice compositional skills!

Re: Pine Tree - Glen Affric

I agree Jack - not the greatest but I'm sure even without the greenery I could probably have crouched down enough to get the bridge and picnic bench out of view. That said - I wasn't really in photo mood - I just happened to have a camera with me when I was passing. I did like the way the tree hung over the frame though.
