D50 image sample

This is a demo to dispel the myth about not being able to take professional images with a lower end DSLR.

This was shot with my D50 and kit 18-55mm lens. Its had a slight sharpen but no other edit.

Re: D50 image sample

Nice shots KK - I've taken some great photos with my D40 too (not sure I'd call mine pro tho lol). I love that elephant one - it's super!

It's true what they say, it's not the camera but what's behind it that matters most

Re: D50 image sample

I do of the top one as that was a client shoot, the other, I'm not so sure.

Re: D50 image sample

Could you post the originals? I think you posted the original elephant shot a while ago (I seem to remember it had a bucket in it?) but all the old pictures have disappeared.

Re: D50 image sample

I'd add - When I look through what I consider to be my 'best' shot's - just as many were taken with my Nikon D50 as with my Canon 40D.

I'd say lenses play more of a part than the camera anyway.

Re: D50 image sample

Of course I only asked so that people can see the shots without PP (because PP can really change a shot). I assume the top one was taken in a dark(ish) room with some flash?

Re: D50 image sample

thanks! The first shot was taken outside in the kennels with my sb600. It's virtually the same as the original. The elephants went through a fair amount of pp tbh so maybe not the best one to demo! But it's a god example of what can be achieved from a d50 JPEG
