Re: Chester zoo

Love the otters and the chimp

With the tiger, how far from the mesh were you? The mesh is rather distracting unfortunately

The 55-200mm lens is well worth getting in my opinion. I would have not got half the shots I got of the animals without it! It performs very well, even in my beginner hands, I think I got it in a kit with the body, 18-55mm lens and the 55-200mm lens and I am really glad I did.

Greyhawk, I know exactly what you mean but unfortunately I was about 4 or 5 feet away behind a barrier and then there was the metal fencing you can see in the shot. I tried everything to blur it out somehow but I just couldn't. With a lot of the bird shots I did, the fences and netting were a lot finer and I could get rid of that easily or I could poke the lens through a gap , but not what the tiger was behind Naybe next time I'll be lucky and not have so much fence in the way but the way that tiger was growling I certainly wouldn't want to be much closer without that fence

The chimp was a really lucky shot and I'm glad you all like it

Thanks again for your lovely comments
