Black and white Sunday walk

Well it was a sunny spell when I set out, but bloomin' cold and rainy showers by the time I had driven 25 minutes to the scene of my Sunday afternoon walk. Some of you will know my Photoshop skills are about as elementary and hit and miss as a blind monkey having a go for the first time.

Nikon D70s, Sigma 12-24mm and converted in Photoshop to BW.

Nice shot BC. It looks much better if you adjust the highlights(about 14%+ darkened) and up the contrast, + 9.

With you on that one Lorna - and slightly sharpen, burn the shadows, dodge the reed highlights, frame - and you have a lovely image!

I really like the photo BC. The folks in here are generally spot on with their observations. That's why I covet their & your opinions. When I first glanced at your photo it screamed for more contrast, what I refer to as "pop". JR did a great job. It's a very frameable keeper. I'd love to see the color version as well.
