Yep, they are based on the Nikon D200 and their image characteristics are biased towards wedding and portrait photographers. Seems to get the best from them they need a bit of post processing. Good price though as they are 499 straight from Fuji.

Yes it is a very good price, what I am wondering is because of the credit crunch is this now filtering ( sorry about the pun) down to the the start of large reductions in camera prices? I am now getting Jessops offering 2 hour reduction deals on cameras on specific days, something not done before.

My gut feeling is that luxury items such as cameras/lenses will see a significant reduction in price over the comming months with more and more "special" offers from companies.

One thing is sure the prices won't be increasing so maybe it might pay to wait.

AFAIK the S5 has always been 'cheap' compared to others. It was 499 on the Fuji website and 429 refurbished for quite a while. Reviews show it as good, not so much an all-rounder but more suited to portrait work or wedding photography. Needs a lot of work after apparently. Only what I read.

Prices may slip a bit on cameras but those of interest seem to maintain their inflated value. I wish the D300 would come down a bit to a realistic level. Really feel almost a grand on a cam is crazy but I want one!
