Looking Outside My Front Door

Even going grocery shopping is awesome as the whole Pacific Northwest is bursting with color. It's the prettiest Autumn I've ever experienced. I don't have to go far.

Autumn is my fave time of year, the colours are so striking and the weather is still warm enough to get out and enjoy them

The third is my favorite also. Believe it or not the slate blue background is actually the busy asphalt road that runs along this collection of trees. The overcast sky had me shooting at an f-stop of about 4.5 with a shutter speed around 100. This caused a very shallow depth of field that blurred the asphalt and made it more of an artistic backdrop than a street.

I've got an idea for framed enlargements of #3 and other leaf panels I've photographed this past vacation week. They'll make great Christmas presents for the parents of my best friend.
