Photography and other people

Just a little survey on other peoples photographic lives.

When I am out taking pics and the OH is with me [or Luke] they always look bored.[unless Luke has his camera]

I could sit and take pics of boats for ages but I am aware it might not be fun for them. lol.

My oh supports me 100% in my wedding/portrait photography [probably cause it pays for our holidays ect ha ha ]

What are your experiences with the others in your life regarding your picture taking?

Re: Photography and other people

I tend to make a deal with kids, if I am taking them somewhere that is good for photos, I promise them to not take too many and then put it away. If it is a kid thing I am doing, I often don't take my camera, as I don't think it is fair on them, especially at the weekends, that is their time.

Re: Photography and other people

I wouldn't take anyone with me unless I knew they would enjoy the walk, or have their own camera, or it was them I was taking pics of - it can't be much fun watching someone else take pics!

Re: Photography and other people

Karen's a saint although I try not to rub it in. The amount of times she's sat in the car reading her book whilst I just 'pop' here or there LOL.

I've been known to leave my camera at home though because I know how frustrating it will be for me having it on the backseat of the car and wanting to stop every 5 miles for a picture.

That said, sometimes a picture just needs to be taken and my selfish side kicks in.

To be honest - I tend to take my best pictures when I'm alone as I feel less rushed.

Re: Photography and other people

Usually only take the camera when I am alone, mind you we are inclined to have our own interests and therefore our leisure time is often spent separately.

Re: Photography and other people

My mum usually tells me to take my camera with me if we are going out a walk (with or without dogs), But I tend to leave it in the house most of the time. If mum, dad and myself are going out for the day then I take all 3 camera's and share for example couple months back the three of us went to the Falkirk Wheel for a coffee and my dad used my 300d and my mum used my fuji, all of us got some nice pics

I don't like to take it if I am the only one with a camera as I feel like I'm holding them up or being a pain etc
