Trash the dress????

I have been asked to photograph a 'trash the dress' session.

I have looked it up and it seems the bride wrecks her dress either in the sea of a pool of mud or anywhere she likes.

Have any of you guys seen any tash the dress photos.

I dont know if I will do it as I have not done it before.

Seems a bit strange.

Must be an American thing!!!!! [eh bobmielke]

Re: Trash the dress????

Yep, it is an american thing, the dress is completely wrecked

Lots of brides go into the sea, have their pictures swimming underwater, they do make fantastic shots, these gorgeous dresses swirling around under water, or the brides floating on top. I have seen one where the bride is in a muddy field with dogs You can imagine what the dress looked like after, but they were great, dogs jumping all over it, the bride sat on a gate in a field all dressed up with wellies

You might aswell have some fun in the dress , you never wear it again

Sounds lik efun Jols, better check if they want underwater shots, as alot that I have seen is the bride undewater, sort of mermaid pictures

Re: Trash the dress????

The bride in question does not know what she wants.

She has just heard it is the new thing and is willing to do anything [her mum not keen at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!]

I will see what happens, if mums has anything to say it wont happen ha ha .

Could be fun though.

And no pressure at all as its new to both of us.

Keep you informed.

Re: Trash the dress????

I will find the website for you, it was photography site in the states, and there was a section on weddings and trashing the dress shots, some of the images were gorgeous.

Re: Trash the dress????

I have decided to ask all my brides if they fancy doing it.

I will tell them that it is all the rage in the usa and australia and will be here in five years time.

If they do it now they will be some of the first.

The first two to say yes I will do the shoot for free and not charge them for photos, I am thinking of producing maybe 20 [7x5] pics in a small album.

This could also go in my portfolio and then after that I will have to work out a price.

But doing the first couple for free I can then work out how long is needed ect.
