Columbia River Gorge - The Dalles
Last week's ride took me on the Washington side of the Columbia River Gorge. I rode the 235 mile round trip using Washington Highway 14 to The Dalles, an up river community located in high desert country. What a stark change there is from the coast, Cascade Mountains & The Dalles. There's only 160 miles covering that whole scenic corridor. The second photo is one of Mt. Hood as seen from the Washington side of the Columbia River Gorge. I hope you enjoy my photographs of the Dales area.

The first one looks not unlike our very own Loch Ness (albeit on a sunny day) !

I must remind myself to download each weekend's rides from my SLR otherwise it gets to be real work to keep track of all the scenery.

Thank you all for your comments and compliments. The goal of my photography is to capture what I see and experience in this part of the world. There's so much beauty I don't have the time or resources to see it all in my lifetime. My prayer would be that the people that live here recognize how blessed they are and therefore fight to preserve it all, no exceptions.
