thought i was going mad as i was sure i had answered this, i had in another section

Every thing is set to manual, focus on, lets say the board.. camera on a tripod. take one shot of yourself either by timer or remote control. then go to the other side and take the second shot. ( or do whatever you like)
in CS3 put both pics on top of each other as layers. with the lasso tool roughly cut around one of the people. on the layes pallet at the bottom there is a square button with a circle in it, next to the fx button 'add layers mask' click that and hey presto you have that sort of image, just remember not to move the camera, manual focus same appeture and shutter speed and it should turn out ok.
you can take as many pics and do the same thing
