A few holiday piccies

Some of the snappy pics.

I've so many to sort through. Either Dog pics for Dogsey or 'better' pictures for here (to come)but I thought I'd just post some general holiday ones for now.

Hope you like them

Anyway - we had a great time just chilling out for a few weeks around the cottage, loch & surrounding area.

Arrived at the cottage in fine weather.

Moored my 'private yacht' at the foot of the garden. Not a bad spot eh !

Off to the shops for supplies.

Tough work this fishing lark. At least the midge protection slows the drinking down

My fishing pal. He kept rubbing it in as I'm sure he was well ahead of my catch. We also had three young sea otters.

I'm glad Skye and Fingal stayed behind - the sheep came right up to the house - as did the deer. Breagh even got a fox cub on the lawn.

No Golden Eagle / White Tailed Sea Eagle pics I'm afraid so you'll have to make do with a couple of 'iffy' stuffed ones.

Hannah, Karen & Breagh on the beach

Me and Breagh

Salty Seadog

Madness was setting in by now and I waged war on the midges.

Lovely Rhum

Lovely Whisky

Ray Mears eat your heart out - bananas on sticks for Hannah!!

Or Octopus for those that would prefer

Followed by lashings of tea and langoustines

OK so it wasn't all tea

Re: A few holiday piccies

Wow! what a fabulous place
Loving your yacht! very luxurious

Very stylish midge protection too, think the pic of you waging war against them is hysterical.

Lovely pictures of the family, Hannah looks like she has a wonderful time, kid heaven there I bet, and dog heaven too.

The stuffed birds are a bit scary

But the scenery is wonderful, looks like you had good weather too.
Did you get any pics of the otters?

Thanks for sharing these

Re: A few holiday piccies

I'm afraid I've no otter pics.

It was late one very still evening we we were driving back 'home' along the loch shore. My brother was driving and he stopped the landrover. With two kiddies in the back we all begged for silence and waited for what we had thought we'd seen.

After just one or two mins the water 'slopped' and 'swirled' as 3 little otthes twisted in the shallows. We watched them play for a few mins before mum sailed in and they sloped away.

No camera I'm afraid but in a way having photographed many in captivity - it was nice to just watch them for real and not worry about pictures.

A tiny swarming biting insect which can drive you potty. The 'Highland' Midge is a particularly nippy one.

Re: A few holiday piccies

In the United States they are called mites or "no-see-ums". They're so small you only know they're there when they bite you. LOL
