Does this count as macro? Arachnophobe warning!

The Fujifilm S5800 has a *supermacro* mode, which allows for very close focus on objects, but I'm not sure that it counts as true macro. Tell me what you think? The actual subject was about 1/4 inch across...

The full sized version can be found here. (not dialup friendly AT ALL!)

Yes, that right, I just didn't want to seem like and anorak on the subject and most likely to be a female, as she has a large round body, which is where she carries her babies, males are usually smaller and have a more slim line figure and in some species of spider, the female will eat the male after mating

Re: Does this count as macro? Arachnophobe warning!

Excellent shot, and interesting URL, have saved that for when I get my head around Macro, always nice to know what you took a portrait of.

For the last couple of days I have had an ant running around on my desktop, do you think he is looking for work?
